The processing

To preserve the fresh flavors and green color of the aromatic Rooibos needles, the oxidation process is stopped shortly after harvest through gentle heating. This careful process is similar to how green tea is made.

This region is renowned for its extraordinary plant diversity, one of the richest in the world, with many species, including rooibos, found nowhere else.
